An old favourite
Haystacks are a no-bake classic. Rolled oats and shredded coconut are stirred into a warm cocoa mix, dropped into little clusters and left to set. They come out lumpy, chewy and very chocolatey. If somebody in your family made these every December, you already know how they taste.
We make ours in small batches in our own kitchen and pack four to a resealable pouch.
What’s in the pouch
Each haystack has 60 mg of THC, and the pouch of four has 240 mg in total.
The ingredients are milk, butter, white sugar, cocoa, vanilla, rolled oats, shredded coconut and THC distillate. They contain milk and coconut. Our kitchen also bakes with wheat, eggs and peanut butter, so ask us first if you have an allergy.
The THC comes from distillate, which has almost no taste, so all you get is chocolate, oats and coconut.
Why people like them
Haystacks are easy to grab and don’t leave crumbs everywhere. They’re a sweet bite with a coffee, or a chocolate fix after dinner. Edibles are known for a slow, mellow, happy feeling that settles in and stays a while, which suits a lazy weekend or a long movie.
Edibles take longer to kick in than smoking. Give it a full two hours before you decide how you feel. Four in a pouch can be tempting, so put the pouch away while you wait.
If you’re not sure what to call them at the counter, “the chocolate oat ones” works fine. We’ll know.
Good to know
- They look like ordinary haystacks. Keep the pouch where kids and pets can’t get to it. Chocolate is bad for dogs, too.
- Keep them cool. Chocolate softens on a hot day, so don’t leave the pouch in the car or in the sun.
- The zip seal keeps the rest fresh.
More chocolate
For more chocolate from the same kitchen, try the brownie. If you’re looking for a gift, the chocolate flowers come two to a pack and look the part.
Start with a small amount and give it time. You can always take more later — and we are happy to talk it through before you buy.
